Cash-Based Physical Therapy: What, Why, and How

What?

Powerhouse Physical Therapy operates on a fee-for-service model, meaning we don’t bill insurance directly. Instead, we focus on what matters most: YOU. You and your PT will work together to determine exactly what you need and build a personalized care plan — no waiting on insurance approvals, no surprise limitations.

Why?

With a cash-based setup, every session is fully one-on-one, 60 minutes, and 100% focused on your goals. There are no hidden fees, no copays, and no unexpected bills. This model ensures your care is driven by what helps you heal — not what insurance decides to cover. Many clients also choose to submit a superbill to their insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on their out-of-network benefits.

How?

Payment is collected at the time of service. From your very first session, you and your PT will decide on a plan that supports your movement, recovery, and long-term function. If you’re planning to submit for insurance reimbursement, we’ll make sure you have everything you need.

We believe your care should reflect your goals.
